Whitney Houston died yesterday and as the world celebrates her memory, my celebrations takes me to South Africa. In 1994 she performed in Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg to honor President Nelson Mandela and celebrate South Africa as a unified apartheid free nation. Her last performance in Johannesburg was in front of 200,000 people. I connect with this memory of Whitney because I will be traveling to South Africa this week and I will visit those same cities.
In the video Whitney speaks about how she had been to Japan, India, Italy and Spain and seen those people in there home and she is finally home to see her people.
